Faucets, Fixtures & Hard-Water Planning in Midland, TX

Specifying the parts of a Midland kitchen that our mineral load will attack first, and deciding whether treatment belongs in the scope.

Hard water does not damage a kitchen evenly. It concentrates on anything with a small orifice or a moving seal: the aerator, the pull-down spray head, the dishwasher inlet valve, the ice maker line, and the instant-hot tank if you add one. Scale builds on the inside of those parts, flow drops, and eventually the seal stops seating. This is why two identical kitchens, one in a soft-water market and one here, can have very different repair histories five years in.

The practical response is a specification, not a brand preference. That means valve cartridges that are available locally and can be swapped without pulling the faucet, spray heads with rubber nubs you can wipe rather than machined screens you cannot, a serviceable shutoff and a dedicated filter position under the sink, and a dishwasher chosen for a replaceable inlet screen. The bigger question is whether whole-house softening or a point-of-use filter belongs in the remodel budget. A remodel is the cheapest time to add either, because the cabinet is already open and the plumbing is already exposed. We will price it as a line item you can accept or decline rather than bundling it in silently.
